Mash Tun

Mashtun with the sight glass (5/8" O.D. braided silicon tubing) and the thermometer mounted in a SS tee with a ball valve connection.
The lower part of the H-manifold for the return mashing water and sparging. It is just about 11" in diameter and uses 1/2" I.D. copper tubing, with 3/8" reductions on the ends.
This is the Ranco Electronic Temperature Controller (ETC). This monitors the temperature in the mashtun and controls the valves in the HLT to either simply recirculate (when the temp is high enough) or heat (when the temp needs to be increased). The part on the right is the SS thermal well that mounts in 1/2" SS tee and then mounts to the SS ball valve assembly.
This is a picture of the controller and temperature pickup all mounted in the outlet of the mashtun. I used SS tee to branch off and mounted an analog thermometer in that, then another tee to branch and mounted the thermal well pickup for the temperature probe in the opposite end from the ball valve shut off control and quick disconnect.
Sparge arm assembly through a 5 gallon lid that sets on top of the mash tun. This lid helps hold heat in during the cool winter brew months.
Another angle of the sparge arm assembly and H-manifold.
